With the midterms 90 days away, Republicans and their corporate media weasels are unleashing increasingly shrill attacks on progressive bloggers, and their desperation will intensify as November 7 draws nearer. We are being slandered as “out of the mainstream radical leftists” for defending the Constitution of the United States, for criticizing Bush's trillion dollar fiasco in Iraq, and for supporting candidates who tell the truth.

The Bush regime and its thugs in Congress are staring political annihilation in the face. They know that Democratic control of Congress would bring subpoena power and explosive hearings that would make the Watergate hearings look like a mutual admiration society love fest. Those hearings would reveal Republican crimes against the American people and the world of such horrendous magnitude that Bush, his White House goons, and Republican congressmen and senators would be hiding in spider holes by this time next year.

These scheming bastards, who have hijacked America's government and turned our free press into a propaganda ministry, understand what's at stake, and their desperation will mount as their deceit and treachery continue to be exposed by events beyond their control, by courageous whistleblowers, by determined defenders of the Constitution like John Conyers and Russ Feingold, and by wild-eyed leftist bloggers like us.

The reality-based world is closing in on them from all sides. Their lies can no longer conceal the horrific consequences of their brutal ignorance and unbounded arrogance. Their carefully staged photo ops can no longer fool an American electorate embittered by six years of Bush regime/corporate media lies, betrayal, and criminal incompetence. Their racist loathing of immigrants can no longer be peddled as upholding our laws, because they shit on our laws and everyone knows it.

In this surreal, Orwellian world Bush and his Rovian stormtroopers have concocted and wandered around in since 2000, certifiable insanity reigns supreme throughout our government and corporate media. Torturing human beings is a vital necessity in the war on terror, but capturing Bin Laden isn't. Supporting our troops is patriotic until they're wounded or killed, then ignoring them is patriotic. Progressive bloggers are dangerous extremists for telling the truth, obscene stupidity is praised as staying the course, and even whispering about Impeachment is considered Satanic.

The Decider has brandished Christianity as a political weapon, exploited 9/11, bankrupted the country, and left no billionaires behind. He’s shoved the USA Fascism Act down our throats, infested every agency of the government with incompetent cronies, partied while New Orleans drowned, destroyed a CIA network, mocked a decorated war hero in 2004, praised insidious traitors, handed billions of dollars to rampaging oil, drug, and credit card companies, outsourced our port security to Muslims, and spied on everyone except Al Qaeda.

We are the Netroots, and we are not going to rest until that son of a bitch is impeached and locked up. Slander us all you want, Mehlman and Rove and Limbaugh and Matthews et al. It’s not going to save George W. Bush or those any of those Republican criminals you worship so fervently. Their reign of deceit and treachery is coming to a screeching halt in 2007, so here’s some advice for all of you: dig yourselves plenty of spider holes real soon, start growing those beards, and get used to shitting underground.

You nailed it again Rusty. I think we are up for the task, but its not going to be pretty. At least not until we get the Houses in November. Then it will be pretty sweet.

Within 24 hours of Lamont's win, WalMarts all across the D.C. metro area sold 50,000 shovels, 50,000 maps of Wyoming, and 50,000 flashlights. I see a pattern here . . .

Hmmmm! I like the idea of Wyoming, and I would like those shovels to become 100,000 purchased, 100,000 maps of Wyoming, and 100,000 flashlights, but I'm not sure even that's enough, but it's a start!

Thanks to the marketing savvy of D.C. area WalMarts, who are running big Spider Hole Supplies Sale! ads in The Weekly Standard, 64,876 shovels, 72,112 maps of Wyoming, and 74,098 flashlights have now been sold.

The longer Bush stays in office, the more damage he does. Congressman John Conyers has sponsored HR 635, calling for an investigation to determine if Bush and the Administration have broken laws & rise to the level of impeachment.
