Rise Up and Make a Difference!

In the summer of 2005 Congressman John Conyers asked the blogging community to help him build his time line for his report, the Constitution in Crisis, and in preparation for hearings on the Downing Street Minutes. At the same time, Erik and I started SoapBox4Truth.org activism web site. I wrote a program to help with the research effort and a group of us did quite a bit of research. After many obstacles were met, I rebuilt the program. I made it better, bigger, and stronger. Now, it is loaded onto SoapBox4Truth so it would have a name. I also expanded it to include all issues, and most importantly, to include the candidates for upcoming elections in November, 2006. By December of 2005, the timeline was completed and Congressman Conyers released his report.

After the release of this report, we created TeamConyersBlog and as a team, we have made close to 2,000 contacts to Congress and the media, 1,000 of which were during the "Stop Alito" campaign. Recently, I've had many of the members of the team ask me how we can fire up the engines again and we're doing so

I'm extending the challenge again. It's time for us ALL to rise up and make a difference in the 2006 election and subsequently in the 2008 by joining our team research and grassroots activism.

I challenge everyone to rise up and make a difference in impeachment NOW by signing Conyers' petition and by posting on TeamConyersBlog that you've done so. I invite everyone whose part of another organization to create another team and get your activities posted, as well.

I challenge everyone to put in some research and fill up SoapBox4Truth with every bit of relevant information that can be found on the candidates for 2006 and on the issues confronting us today. This web site can be a major one-stop-shop for information with your help. It's a powerful machine and it will holds millions of bits of information in sortable, searchable format.

All the programming I did over the past year was for Mr. Conyers and his efforts. Now, I've programmed additional software that gives our team a real workplace, a real locker room, if you will, where we can suit up, cheer one another on and, together, move mountains.

The following people have contacted me and said, "I'm ready to roll:" Rusty, Reed31463, Alma , feline, and tahoebasha1. From this small band of activists, we have organized into a young and active force for democracy. These founders form our Board of Directors, of which I am honored to be the Chair. We've had many interested folks join our efforts. As an organiztion now, we're "ready to roll." We invite you to roll with us. If you haven't suited up in the TeamConyersBlog uniform, it's time to do so.
