Demanding Truth, Justice and Accountability in Government

Congressman Conyers Deserves Our Help

Alma

I want to help, so I hope you'll help me.

I'm afraid of what will happen to my country if millions of Americans like me watch in intimidated silence while criminals destroy everything we cherish.

House Resolution 635, introduced by my Congressman, John Conyers, would establish a select committee to investigate the Bush Administration's deceit prior to the invasion and occupation of Iraq, as well as other outrages such as torturing human beings, and the monstrous betrayal of a CIA network working to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Upon concluding its investigation, there is no doubt this select committee would be able to present conclusive evidence to the House of Representatives that George W. Bush has committed multiple Impeachable offenses.

In order to rally public support across America for this vital resolution, concerned citizens, progressive bloggers, media activists and celebrities are joining together in national efforts such as the H.R. 635 PSA Project. This expanding project is a way to directly support these courageous Democratic lawmakers. They are defending us against the BushCo criminals who have hijacked our government, so why are so many progressives refusing to actively support Congressman Conyers and his 36 co-sponsors of HR 635?

These dedicated defenders of our Constitution need our help. America needs our help. The world needs our help. Bush and his co-conspirators must be held accountable for their lawlessness. We must work together now to build public support for Select Committee investigations and Impeachment hearings so Congressman Conyers can build on that momentum when the next Congress convenes in January.

As a wife and mother, I am deeply concerned about the horrors my children and grandchildren will be subjected to if we fail to remove this criminal president from office. If we truly love our children, we will all support worthy progressive efforts like this one. Please donate a few dollars to the H.R. 635 PSA Project. Please take a few minutes to call a local radio station and ask them to air one of this Project's public service announcements.

I think Congressman Conyers and his co-sponsors of H.R. 635 deserve at least that much support from us. I hope you agree.

Alma, great post.

If people have "Had Enough" of the Bush Administration's attack on our Constitution and our civil liberties, they need to support Congressman Conyers & HR 635. The PSA Project is an excellent way to get the word out.

Thanks for posting this, Alma. We all have to support this project and keep supporting it until JC has that Select Committee gavel in his hand.

We're going to help eachother, Alma, all of us, and the number of citizens who share your heartfelt appeal will continue to join voices. Thank you for getting this information out there!

Thanks again Constant

for linking this article, helping get the word out about Conyers' H.R. 635 and the PSAs. (See Action: Share this link)

Alma, thank you for a straight from the heart post. There is not one person who should not be concerned for their children, grandchildren and their future in this country.
We are need to help as much as we possibly able to turn things around, one of the ways is that which you point out -- the usefulness of the PSA's in support of Cong. Conyers' H.R. 635 for a complete investigation of the Bush violations of law, which are impeachable. I hope everyone will join in this effort and help support the producer by progressive radio stations, blog sites and the like and I hope people will also donate to this worthy cause which the producer has taken on single-handedly and spent of his own monies to create. He needs funds to keep this important project going.

well, there are some errors above, but I'm sure you understand (at work)

Comment # 7 ~ Patriot ~ 08/01/2006 16:25 GMT

Great post, Alma! I recommended it on Kos, even though it's off the front page now. I see it got 47 or so recommendations, and that's great!

Please everyone continue posting accomplishments and updates to the PSA project page so we'll have a running record of what we've done. Thanks.

The response on Daily Kos to Alma's appeal for support of Conyers' H.R. 635 has been very encouraging. We already have Daily Tahoe on our side, so if the Kossacks can keep up with Tahoe, these PSA's will be heard everywhere over the coming weeks and months.

Might you be suggesting I yack a lot, hmmmm? Thanks, but I don't think I will be able to be as profliferate as others may be -- but it sure doe fire me up -- hope I can sustain it (the fire)!

Thank you all for your support on this important subject. Its not often that an opportunity arises in political activism where you can see if you are making a difference. Last nights diary showed that we are making a difference. People are hearing us and helping. Its a step on the road to ending BushCo's reign of terror.

I think having Daily Tahoe on our side is a definite advantage. She's a force of nature all on her own. She has proven time and again that one person can make a difference. I think anyone, even Kossacks would have a hard time keeping up with her.

Damn, I don't see how I can live up to all of this! Thank you Alma and Rusty?

Thank you Alma for fighting for the life of True Democracy! I appreciate your insight and honesty, and look forward to more Kos posts. Conyers has a fight ahead of him, but at least he keeps fighting.
Thanks again Alma and all at SB4T! You all give me hope.

Hi GalfromCal,

I hope that lawsuit in CA50 nails those RePug election thieves. We're going to see blatantly illegal electoral fraud like that all over the country in November, we have to be ready to fight back in every way available to us.

Comment # 17 ~ Rusty ~ 08/02/2006 17:11 GMT

I believe you, Tahoe. My UID number in the TahoeAmerica Fan Club is 003, which confirms that've I've believed you and believed in you for a long time.

Comment # 18 ~ Alma ~ 08/02/2006 23:55 GMT

Nice to see you here GalfromCal. I'm sorry I missed you in chat election night. Come back as often as you can. From what I heard about your visit, I think you are a "doer", so I would also like to thank you for all that you have probably done.

Comment # 19 ~ Rusty ~ 08/03/2006 05:44 GMT

GalfromCal impressed us all with her knowledge of the issues and candidates, and we had a great time that night despite Bilbray's "victory" over Busby, which I do not think is going to survive this CA 50 lawsuit.

GalfromCal, thank you so much for your positive feedback, support, and information. We do have a fight ahead of us, but with involved citizens like yourself, I feel more optimistic and inspired!

Lamont's big win in Connecticut is energizing progressives all over the country. PEOPLE POWER triumphed in Connecticut, and it is going to triumph in every state and congressional district on November 7.

Comment # 23 ~ Rusty ~ 08/15/2006 05:46 GMT

Well, maybe not in every state and congressional district, but we only need 15 House seats and 6 Senate seats. If we get them, a lot of Republican politicians will be going to prison.
