Why Do Republicans Hate Democracy?

Rusty

Between now and November 7, every Republican candidate should be confronted by Democrats and asked why they hate democracy. Jim Webb, ask George Allen why he hates democracy! Bob Casey, ask Rick Santorum why he hates democracy! Joe Sestak, ask Curt Weldon why he hates democracy! Francine Busby, ask Brian Bilbray why he hates democracy! Jon Tester, ask Conrad Burns why he hates democracy!

How to frame these midterm elections is staring every Democratic candidate in the face. They need to quit mumbling that they want to fight terrorism too and start kicking some RePug asses!

John at AmericaBlog nails it: “We've got the president of the fucking United States of America lecturing a US court of law that it's supposed to reach decisions NOT based on the rule of law, but on "the nature of the world we live in.”

The nature of the world we live in is the VERY REASON WHY Americans should toss these Republican lunatics out of power. As James Wolcott warns, Bush is, “demonstrably diminished, dwarfed by the reality that he continues to deny and repeating himself in press conferences like a robot whose wiring is on the fritz, for whom words and phrases are nothing more than pre-programmed units of sound. He's more irritating and dangerous than ever before, because he doesn't know anything, doesn't know or care that he doesn't know anything, and yet persists in a path of destruction as if it were the road to salvation.”

And who has aggressively supported Bush and concealed his criminal incompetence and crimes every day for six years, through fiasco after fiasco? Every lying, scheming, conspiring Republican in Congress, that’s who.

I think we all agree with John that Bush is a “God damn stupid fuck,” and that ugly reality should be hung around every RePug candidate’s neck like a NOOSE. They’ve worshipped him for six years, bankrupted our treasury for him, torn up our Constitution for him, warmongered for him, betrayed our troops for him, raped our middle class for him, slandered Democrats for him, and in November they deserve to be sent to the electoral gallows for what they have done, and to hang by their RePug necks until their grieving wingnut stooges have time to haul their electoral corpses to the nearest Rapture Departure Gate.

Every Democratic candidate should condemn their RePug opponent by echoing John’s fiery condemnation of Bush: “You have the nerve to claim Osama and the terrorists hate our democracy? They got nothing on you and your fellow "Republicans."

Democratic candidates, frame the difference between you and your RePug opponent as John did: “Do you people even believe in freedom? Do you believe in the Bill of Rights? Do you believe in our Constitution? Do you fucking believe in anything other than your absolute power to do whatever the fuck you want . . . ?”

Perhaps the f-words could be left out, except in Charlie Rangel’s district, but Democratic candidate condemnation of Republican lawlessness, hypocrisy, and rigid rubber stamp obedience to George W. Bush should thunder across America for the next eighty days, framed as WHY DO REPUBLICANS HATE DEMOCRACY?
