Demanding Truth, Justice and Accountability in Government

Disney/ABC's Terrorist Attack on the Truth

Patriot

I don't know how to express the outrage I am feeling right now. Disney/ABC's slanderous "docudrama" entitled "The Path to 9/11" aired on September 10 and 11 all over the world, and is such sickening political pornography that outrage is the only rational response. This "major television event" was obviously intended to be a devastating blow to Democratic hopes of retaking Congress, but judging by the firestorm of criticism and contempt it has generated, it may prove to be the final howl of this desperate pack of liars collectively known as the Republican Party. The broadcasting of this hideous propaganda has proven to me, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the malicious intent of this film is not only to pin the blame for 9/11 solely on the Clinton administration, but to resurrect the political corpse of George W. Bush and to present him once again as the "heroic" defender of America and scourge of the "evildoers."

The trailer for the movie, which was shown in Europe and around the world can be seen HERE. and is a blatant lie. Deceitfully promoted as "The Official True Story" and trumpeted as "How one decision changed the world," this concoction of lies and distortions defames President Clinton, Secretary of State Albright, and falsely depicts Sandy Berger "refusing" to authorize an attack bin Laden. That refusal, which never happened, is the reason, according to the trailer for this 5-hour Disney/ABC propaganda spiel, why 9/11 happened.

I live in Europe and I think this film will produce moral outrage throughout Europe and the world, where President Clinton is held in high esteem and Bush is held in contempt. Already, the world wonders how Americans could have been so stupid as to elect Bush the first time, not to mention the second! And they wonder why Americans can't read the news, they certainly receive plenty of our news over here. Plus news of their own, from the world perspective.

This film is a brutal terrorist attack on the truth itself, and on everyone who cherishes the truth. Fortunately, the world is at long last recognizing who the real terrorists are--those who created and promoted this film, and the radical extremists in the Bush regime and the Republican Congress who have the innocent blood of tens of thousands of people on their hands, and are plotting and scheming to spill even more.

Theirs is a form of terrorism far more lethal and dangerous than Islamic fundamentalist terrorism, and must be exposed, resisted, and defeated. It will be, but only if we never lose faith in ourselves and summon the courage each and every difficult day ahead of us to tell the American people the brutal truth about these BushCo terrorists in our newspapers, on radio talk shows, and across the Internet.

Wow. That's a hard hitting commentary. Good going!

I wish I could be there but I can't. I do hope other progressives and citizens will cover for me and make a statement that we aren't going to take it any more.

I'll be there with Sneaky Diary Boy!

And we're bringing Tahoe and Kate. BushCo won't know what hit them.

These comments don't multiply as quickly when Tahoe isn't here . . .

". . . .sack of shit she grunted . . . ." That statement right there ought to be enough to motivate everyone to get off their duffs and go to D.C. on October 5, 2006, that is to say once they get up from the floor after reading it!

Thanks, Rusty, for lighting a "fire" that, hopefully, will catch on with as many of us progressives as possible.

Rusty's on fire - and it only takes a spark to get the fire going! If we aren't getting fired up yet, what's going on?

I was just reminiscing the other day with a chat friend about the Vietnam War protest marches that I joined in with as they went by my street back in Lansing, Michigan when I was a young high scholl student. It was really great to be part of thousands of college and high school students and others vocally marching and expressing our disgust at administration policies!

And we know that it made a difference!

I was also commenting that it is sad that we haven't seen people being as motivated to march as we were back then (especially the young people).

Well, back then we had a mandatory draft - and nobody wanted to go die in a fruitless war!

The very threat of a war with Iran should cause us all to stand up and take notice!

With our military already stretched way too thin, such an action would probably require that a draft be reinstated. Such a threat should be met before it becomes a reality!

Netroots blogging, signing petitions and supporting good progressive political campaigns combined with GOOD ol' PROTEST MARCHES WILL MAKE A DIFFEREBCE!

Let's each of us settle it in our minds to do all that we can to see this insanity stopped!

If you can march - march! If you can donate - donate! If you can blog -blog!

Just be sure to do what you can - before you can't do ANYTHING anymore!

Keenekarl,

You have said a mouthfull -- I, too, remember when the youth of this country rose up in protests -- one wonders what's preventing them from doing so today, particuarly, since it is they who will ultimately inherit this disaster.

Your last sentence SAYS IT ALL!

Thanks, Karl.

P.S. Rusty's always lit, I mean on fire! ;)

Great commentary again, Karl. Many of us also remember the marches against the Vietnam War and during the Civil Rights Movement era, so it's especially troubling to us that so many progressives today refuse to participate in public marches and demonstrations.

Marches and demonstrations would complement other activism, these efforts are not mutually exclusive. We need to intensify and expand public resistance to BushCo, and those of us who are able to be in DC on October 5 intend to do that.

Well, if you weren't lighting me up all the time, Tahoe, I wouldn't be on fire. ;)
