Demanding Truth, Justice and Accountability in Government

Hurricane Foley Is Still Raging

Rusty

Packing devastating 150 mile-an-hour lies, Hurricane Foley wreaked havoc on Washington D.C. last week, leaving its fabled Rovian levees in ruins, triggering panic at the White House and RNC, and forcing the evacuation of thousands of frightened Republican politicians. Left behind to fend for themselves in the initial aftermath of this Category Five storm, hordes of Republican staffers, consultants, strategists, defense attorneys, pundits, hookers, and lobbyists tried to flee across the 14th Street Bridge to safety, but they were shot at and turned away by alert Arlington County deputies, who hadn’t seen so many criminals in one place at one time since the State of the Union Address.

Unlike most hurricanes, which lose their lethal power once they move inland, Hurricane Foley gained strength as it howled through dozens of congressional districts, knocking out electoral power in hundreds of Republican campaign headquarters, disrupting Focus on the Family relief convoys, generating flu-like symptoms in some of the dazed Republican evacuees, and rapidly converting millions of evangelicals into lifelong Democrats.

In the ensuing chaos, roving bands of Republicans have sought shelter in TV and talk radio studios, and are hurling accusations at Sponge Bob Square Pants, George Soros, Bart Simpson, and other notorious leftists, who had obviously known that Hurricane Foley had been coming and coming and coming for years but waited until a month before Election Day to leak “those naughty e-mails” to the liberal media so all the America haters could embolden the terrorists and ban the Bible and raise taxes and start endless investigations.

Despite the efforts of The Immaculate Dobson and Damage Control Central at the Republican National Committee to conceal the destruction wrought on the GOP by Hurricane Foley, shocking evidence of the carnage is evident in reactions all over the country. By Sunday night, only Jenna Bush and some lady in Idaho still believed J. Dennis Hastert’s assertion that Hurricane Foley struck with no advance warning. Condi Rice tried to help out by observing, “Who could have foreseen that a Republican pervert obsessed with the Republican penises of young Republican pages would try to e-mail them to solicit sex?”

Pondering what might have been as he stared at the ass end of an elephant on the cover of Time Magazine, Karl Rove put Alberto Gonzalez’s September 11, 2006 memo advising President Bush to declare congressional pages enemy combatants back in his briefcase, called Condi, and told her to shut the hell up or she’d be a Hooter’s waitress by this weekend.

As Rove struggled to coordinate relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Foley, White House Press Secretary Tony Snow explained this morning that rescuing hundreds of Republican politicians trapped in the debris was being delayed because of the massive communications problems involved in trying to prove to the American people that elusive left wing culprits were responsible “for this tawdry frenzy of character assassination good Republicans have been subjected to by liberal Hollywood elitists and shadowy North Korean sympathizers.”

As Hurricane Foley swept across the Midwest, leveled Republican strongholds in the Rocky Mountain states to dust, and threatened to turn Arnold Schwarzenneger into a Dead Girly Man Walking, President Bush staged a photo op yesterday at the Richard M. Nixon Elementary School in Rockville, Maryland, where he demonstrated strong faith-based leadership by showing a class of first graders how to delete e-mails from Republican congressmen. “We’re going to fight these perverts in grade schools so we won’t have to fight them in Congress,” Bush vowed.

According to White House Communications Director Dan Bartlett, this is the first phase in the Bush Administration’s comprehensive National Strategy for Victory in the War against E-Mails. “Senator Ted Stevens will take charge of this crucial national security program as soon as he leaves the Senate,” Bartlett announced. “As America’s foremost expert on the Internets, Senator Stevens has the credentials and experience to ensure that our children will soon be safe from the Axis of E-Mails.”

Preach it, my brother! If we can keep working for the things that really matter, eventually they will come to fruition.

Very inspiring message, Karl. I'm with you. Those who choose to remain passively silent at this critical time of our history are, in effect, submitting to a continuation of the processes that are before us. No change is ever had by silence or passiveness. We need to keep raising hell until we win and change comes about. Thanks for a great effort!

I have raised hell about Republican fascism for years, with the urgency of an air raid siren, in order to awaken passively silent Democrats and a nation hypnotized by Republican lies. I have not and never will submit to this criminal government or its enablers, nor will I submit to being smeared by one of my "true friends", who seems to think that friendship is based upon constant chatter, and that if someone is no longer posting on a blog, they are being "passively silent".

The next three front page articles will be written by Tahoe, for I'm confident she has plenty of advice yet to share with us regarding not submitting to a continuation of the processes before us, the dangers of silence and passiveness, the need to raise hell, how to win, and how to recognize when one is abandoning one's true friends.

Rusty's articles over the past few months have been a great source of encouragemnet and education to me, helping to move me from being passively silent to someone now emboldened to speak out. I cannot imagine that Tahoe was referring to Rusty when she talked about being passively silent at this time. Rusty truly has said and put into words so much more than anyone else I know in the effort to uphold truth and uncover Republican lies! It is easy for me to understand now that he has nothing else left to say. And he need not say anything more... his previous words still speak... they have been having a ripple effect for months... changing lives and hearts like mine and many others. The ripples will continue to spread out, reaching untold others, whether Rusty types another word or not! Rusty's voice will still be heard... he cannot be silenced!

Rusty's involvement also goes far beyond his Kos diaries and SoapBox front page articles. He continues to to edit and post the front page articles for SoapBox4Truth - and that's no easy task. It's alot of work! Thanks Rusty!

I wrote "The Darkest of Times" for people like Rusty and all of you out there who have been speaking out against the lies and injustices of the Bush/Republican government! Hearts are being changed by what you have written and said, and I believe that our words and hopes will be vindicated!

One of the most difficult things to do in this battle against injustice and lies is to say what we have to say and then take our rest and leave the results in the hands of others. In the end, it is all any of us can do. It's called faith - having faith that when we have done and said all that we can do or say, that those we have spoken to will make the right choices -and that our dreams and hopes will come to pass.

I have faith that change will come about because of the hard efforts of so many who have taken time to speak out! Thank you all!

I am amazed to see that my comment as to "silent passiveness" was somehow misconstrued. That statement was a completely general statement made by me and referring to all such Americans and in direct response to Karl's article.

Karl, I could not concur with you more as to the stupendous efforts that have heretofore been made by Rusty and continue to be made and no one could quibble with that one iota, nor his wish not to write any more articles -- it's true that one can finally wind up bankrupt and run out of things to say.

I think Rustys a little sensitive right now Tahoe. He seems to be taking some things personally that aren't meant to be that way. And misunderstanding the meaning of other comments. I don't think that he understood that the abandonment, and MIA comments were about DC, and not Soapbox or posting.

Karl, you wrote an excellent commentary and your comment is touching, as well.

We need all to remember that we are not the enemy, we come here to care for and support one another.
