Victory Is Ours: Let's Go Out and TAKE IT

On the eve of this most important election, I’m reminded of words that recently stopped me in cold in my tracks.

“What would you do with your life if you knew you would succeed at it.”

That question struck me viscerally. It’s not the usual wishful thinking “what would you do if…” but instead had the quality of an accomplished fact. A deed already done.

The Honorable Congressman John Conyers (Dem-MI) today posted on his blog at www.johnconyers.com something with a similar visceral feel to it. This is the phrase that shook me to my core.

“Now I want to ask you one last favor, let's stop any unproductive and unnecessary second guessing and close the deal together. I know Democrats are famous for going out of their way to find things to worry about, but there comes a time when we simply need to declare that we are proud to be Democrats and roll up our sleeves together. Now is that time.”

It’s time to act confidently. Time to move forward positively. To know within our being that the victory is ours and to act as if. How many more polls do we need to tell us what we know deeply inside? The majority of Americans are with us. Many Republicans are with us. We’ve turned it around. Karl Rove is spinning circles on the wheel in his cage. Even the Neocon rats are jumping ship. For goodness sake, they were even interviewed by Larry King this evening!

Victory is ours. Let’s go out and take it!

I think Bush and Cheney might not be so happy about it after they are behind bars.

My contempt for these assholes is at the point that I want to spoon feed Dick Cheney's shit to Bush and Gonzales while they are all in their jail cells on death row.

Mangled Constitution Act is right! It sure was a dark act. Bush Vader and his knights of the Dark Empire had their day, but their demise looks sure! May the Force of Truth destroy their dark works forever!

Mangled, desecrated, crumpled, defamed ("it's just a GD piece of paper!), stomped on, kicked, slammed -- what else hasn't been done to our Constitution? When we again get it in our hands, it will need lots of tender loving care, coddling, nursing and fostering back to health from it's long battle with "evil," albeit, it will, nonetheless, have been "scarred."

Thanks. Major Danby did a great job on his Kos diary about Bush hijacking the National Guard. Feline posted a warning about this issue on ConyersBlog in late August, I saw that post and wrote a Kos diary, and Major Danby wrote a better one that got a lot of attention. It's just one example of how we can all use Netroots activism and blogs to take back our government.
