ATTENTION: CB Colleagues and Fellow Bloggers:

We hope that no one will feel offense by an "unusual" request we are about to make.

Our dear colleague and fellow blogger, Reed, is suffering dire straights as we write, most probably having, in part, to do with his political beliefs. We believe everyone here knows him to be extremely bright and capable.

Reed, has suffered a series of setbacks for near a year now and it is now crucial. Reed has been diligently pursuing the work market while going through the family savings, his wife had a job for a few weeks, then was laid off, his three children are in school, and the family is now faced with possible eviction from their rented home. A number of us are sending Reed whatever we can to help him over this momentary "hump". If any of you would like to help in whatever way you can financially or otherwise, we know Reed would be humbled and grateful by any gesture on your part.

Thanks for listening. And, thank you kindly for whatever gesture you may make.

Sincerely,

Tahoe and Alma

Great job Reed! You've done your research! We need to keep sharing these truths and pushing for them to be adhered to! Thanks again for doing your part!

Excellent, Reed. We have, amongst us, been pondering all of this for so long. If you were to strip these "criminals" of their power and wealth, what would you have? You would have what they are: criminals! And, isn't it so, that in the REAL world, we bring "criminals" to trial? That is what is needed to happen. Impeachment, the whole "geschickta"(sp!)

Great Post Reed. For anyone interested, here’s a link American Bar Association Impeachment Info webpage: www.abanet.org/publiced/impeach2.html

OT, but FYI here’s a web page where you can look up your congress critter’s voting record on veteran/support the troop issues: (IAVA Congressional Ratings) www.abanet.org/publiced/impeach2.html Examples – 3 “Support the Troops” MI congressional repubs can only muster up “C” ratings from Iraq/Afghanistan vets – Mike Rogers, MI-8 – Opponent Jim Marcinkowski; Thad McCotter, MI-11 – Opponent Tony Trupiano; and Pet Hoekstra, MI-2 – Opponent Kimon Kotos.

OT, or maybe not, considering this involves Bush again circumventing the Constitution:

FYI: Re: Posse Comitatus Act. Rusty has written informative diaries regarding this issue. A post by Greg at Carter for NV (also using Kos ID of Major Danby, which will be the ID he will do future posts under) states he is leaving the Carter campaign to immediately begin working to get support from congress members and governors to work on “clarifying/and or repealing this law pronto”. Why I’ve Quit Jack Carter’s Campaign Here’s a link to his previous diary regarding the impact of Bush’s new stealth power grab: Bush Guts Posse Comitatus—Grabs National Guard!

Today’s post explains why he’s leaving the Carter campaign, with Carter’s permission, now to work on this issue. He gives the following credit to Rusty in a follow-up comment: “…Cedwyn and Randy1776 both have excellent diaries that will start you off, and I think that the diary in that link, and the one on Pat Leahy's press release (linked to further down in the text above), set the stage pretty well..”

Tomorrow he will post as Major Danby to explain more about his plan.

thanks unspun! I extended an offer of your time to help out.

Not really. I'm just kidding. But I did offer our resources.

Thanks Reed. Both for this article and contacting Greg/Major Danby.

Comment # 8 ~ Rusty ~ 10/29/2006 22:21 GMT

Who's this Randy1776 guy?

Comment # 9 ~ Rusty ~ 10/29/2006 22:23 GMT

At any rate, Major Danby is doing a great job already on this National Guard hijacking by Bush, and it is evident that he is going to aggressively pursue this. Thanks for the comments, unspun.

And thanks, Reed, for contacting Major Danby, he's going to need a lot of help to raise public and congressional awareness of the threat to us all posed by this plot to take over the National Guard.

Reed, you're work is amazing and comprehensive. It is utterly important for the welfare of this country.
