We hope that no one will feel offense by an "unusual" request we are about to make.
Our dear colleague and fellow blogger, Reed, is suffering dire straights as we write, most probably having, in part, to do with his political beliefs. We believe everyone here knows him to be extremely bright and capable.
Reed, has suffered a series of setbacks for near a year now and it is now crucial. Reed has been diligently pursuing the work market while going through the family savings, his wife had a job for a few weeks, then was laid off, his three children are in school, and the family is now faced with possible eviction from their rented home. A number of us are sending Reed whatever we can to help him over this momentary "hump". If any of you would like to help in whatever way you can financially or otherwise, we know Reed would be humbled and grateful by any gesture on your part.
Thanks for listening. And, thank you kindly for whatever gesture you may make.
Sincerely,
Tahoe and Alma Donate
Comment # 1 ~ Rusty ~ 11/03/2006 05:06 GMT Getting a new Constitution written and ratified would be quite a task. While we're working on that, I'd like to see new Selective Service legislation passed in the next Congress, inducting every Republican office holder in America into the Army.
We can call it the Karma Act.
Comment # 2 ~ Reed31463 ~ 11/03/2006 18:24 GMT Since a constitutional convention of this size would be without precedent, a constitutional amendment addressing the failures of the Constitution to protect Liberty, Justice, and Freedom would be more easily accomplished. Preventing another coup of the likes in 2000 & 2004, and how known abuses were ALLOWED to continue by Congress for years afterwards. Congress had the power to stop this long ago, but they refused. There was no compulsion except their word to follow their oaths of office. Doing that apparantly is not criminal.
It should be treason!!!!
