Not long ago, Al Franken noted, “If you listen to a lot of conservatives, they’ll tell you that the difference between them and us is that conservatives love America and liberals hate America.” Not only is this a conservative lie, it exposes the threat conservatives will always pose to America. Franken explained that Republicans, “love America the way a four-year-old loves her mommy. To a four-year-old, everything Mommy does is wonderful and anyone who criticizes Mommy is bad.”
We’ve had a bunch of strutting Republican four-year-olds running America since 2001. That’s why America has been such a wonderful liberator of Iraq. That’s why so many Iraqis are waiting in such long lines to join the wonderful Iraqi Security Forces. That’s why tens of thousands of Iraqis who ended up lying dead in a wonderful ditch, or at the bottom of the wonderful Tigris, or in a wonderful morgue with holes drilled through them and their eyes gouged out left this world with smiles of gratitude on their faces.
These four-year-old Republicans sure know how to love America. They love America so much they rained cruise missiles on a city of five-million men, women, and children. It’s a surefire way to win friends and influence people. Works every time. They love America so much they’re celebrating our glowing new friendship with Iraq with a four-hundred billion dollar bonfire of taxpayer money. Heartwarming, isn’t it? Makes us all want to go out and hug the first Republican we see.
They love America so much they gave us the Gay Marriage Amendment because being gay is contagious and the sanctity of marriage has to be preserved for all of the adulterers and wife beaters. They love America so much they gave us the USAPatriot Act so we won’t all turn into Muslim terrorists the next time we go to the library. They love America so much they gave us the Help America Vote Act so really smart machines can vote for us and defeat the America haters. They love America so much they gave us the NSA Terrorist Surveillance Program so the evildoers won’t call us collect for directions to the nearest nuclear power plant and run up our phone bills. They love America so much they gave us the Military Commissions Act so bad people can be tortured by good people and civilization can be saved from barbarism.
We love America so much, we have no choice but to demand Impeachment. Impeaching Bush is not vengeance, it is motivated by patriotism and love for America. It is the only way to reclaim our honor and integrity as a nation of laws. It is the only way to restore our leadership as a global defender of the peace. It is the only way to prove once and for all that Republicans have not loved America, they have gang raped America.
Do not condone this brutal violation of America, Democrats.
Do not set these gang rapists free to gang rape again in 2008 or 2010 or 2012.
Impeach. Convict. Redeem yourselves, and redeem America.
