Supporting Congressman John Conyers, Jr.
and his efforts to bring truth, justice and accountability to government.

About TeamConyersBlog

Congressman John Conyers asked the blogging community to help him build his time line for his report, the Constitution in Crisis, and in preparation for hearings on the Downing Street Minutes in the summer of 2005. At the same time, Erik and I started SoapBox4Truth.org activism web site. I wrote a program to help with the research effort and loaded it onto Soapbox. Many volunteers from the ranks of ConyersBlog pitched in and we did quite a bit of research. By December of 2005, the timeline was completed and Congressman Conyers released his report.

After the release of this report, we channeled our energy into making thousands of contacts to elected officials, many published letters to editors, and supported candidates in every way that we could and took on other projects to help raise awareness of issues about which we felt strongly.

From this small band of activists, we have organized into a young and active force for democracy. We've had many interested folks join our efforts. As an organiztion now, we continue to roll. We invite you to roll with us. If you haven't suited up in the TeamConyersBlog uniform, it's time to do so.

The Locker Room

We meet every Saturday in The TeamConyersBlog Locker Room at noon Central Time. We enjoy sharing ideas, views and humor. We have robust debates. We organize projects, work hard and sometimes just enjoy one another's company. We welcome anyone who wishes to join us in supporting Congressman Conyers and his efforts to bring accountability to government.

The locker room is open 24/7 and if it's occupied, the names will appear below the "ENTER" link on the Locker Room page. To join, go to the Locker Room to register and login. After login, follow path:

TCB Projects

When we have a project in support of Congressman Conyers (JC) or of his efforts, we'll announce it here on CB. We have no current projects other than to urge patience until JC is firmly settled into the Chairmanship of the Judiciary Committee.

About ConyersBlog

ConyersBlog belongs to Congressman Conyers and it is a place where you can express your views and share information. For the most part, this is the best blog of any member of either houses of congress. Congressman Conyers reads this blog and interacts with the bloggers. He comes to know each of us and he lets us know of his appreciation of our contributions of thoughts and deeds.

Being Heard

To write to JC, put "Congressman Conyers" or "JC" in the subject field of the message.
To write to the blog administrator, put "Admin" in the subject field of the message.
For general information, the veteran bloggers will help you find your way around. Just ask a question or make a comment and someone will answer you rather quickly.

Distractions

In a free speech forum such as this, there will be times of distraction, intended or otherwise. It's up to you to decide what this blog means to you and how you will use it, to read what interests you and ignore what doesn't. If you can overlook the distractions, you will find plenty of well-written, well-reasoned and enlightening comments written by some of the best bloggers on the internet. About Trolls

Important note

We are eternally grateful and profoundly honored that US Representative John Conyers, Jr. has the faith in us to allow us to use the name "TeamConyersBlog". The views expressed here are entirely our own and do not necessarily reflect the views of Mr. Conyers.

Statement of Interim Policy
Soapbox4Truth - TeamConyersBlog

As longtime supporters of JC, we want to appeal to all ConyersBloggers to set aside our differences, anger and frustration for the Holiday Season and express support for JC, or at the very least, express understanding of the difficult position he is in until a new House Judiciary Chairman is named.

We'll join this temporary Holiday truce, post supporting comments on CB, and set aside our own disgust for the next 6 weeks. We challenge our fellow veteran ConyersBloggers to do the same.

If JC is not named Judiciary Chairman, we will meet to work out a course of action to confront Pelosi et al. If he is, he needs to begin investigations very quickly and come out swinging. If that doesn't happen, then we will open discussion on how to confront JC.

We exend our warmest welcome to the new members of ConyersBlog and hope you will join us at ConyersBlog and at Soapbox4Truth.
